Summary
Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome is a generalised eruption caused by infection by Staphylococcus aureus. The eruption is characterized by generalised erythema (red skin) and superficial detachment of the skin or generalised desquamation. Treatment requires hospitalization and is based on the administration of antibiotics, rehydration and topical skin care.
