Zinc

11 January 2016, by QUÉNAN S.

1 - INTRODUCTION

Zinc is a dietary trace element needed for many of the body’s enzyme functions, meaning that it plays a role in maintaining normal metabolism. It has been used since antiquity to accelerate skin healing and in the treatment of some inflammatory skin diseases. It also has antioxidant properties as it neutralises free radicals. Zinc supplements therefore have therapeutic value in several dermatological indications.
